Desir Arman was one of six survivors of humanity’s deadliest catastrophe, the Shadow Labyrinth, but ultimately even they failed and the world ended. However, just as Desir accepted his demise, the world returned to 13 years in the past! (transition word) Desir finds himself back at Havrion, the nation’s top magic academy, and reunited with friends he thought he had lost forever. With the knowledge and experience from his first life, Desir is determined to change the past to save his loved ones and mankind’s fate.

Given a second chance at life, Desir excels at Havrion, accomplishing in one month what took three years before ( transition phrase). His friends and instructors are astonished by his progress, unaware that for Desir, this is all familiar ground. Desir hides the truth of his return in order to change key events leading to humanity’s doom.

Desir’s sudden changes, while puzzling, do not go unnoticed. His rapid advancement garners attention, both good and bad. His friends celebrate his newfound skill and maturity while others eye him with suspicion (transition word). However, Desir’s only concern is preparing humanity for the Shadow Labyrinth by gathering comrades and sharing his knowledge to strengthen them.

Each day brings Desir closer to the Labyrinth’s emergence and another chance at victory (transition word). Using his magic and experience, Desir navigates political intrigue and confronts human frailty to unite former enemies against a common foe. With three years remaining, time is both fleeting yet abundant if used well. Desir must ensure each moment and encounter paves the way for a different fate.

The story follows Desir’s crusade in this new life, his inward struggles, hopes, and determination to defeat an enemy only he can see coming (repetition). Through failures and triumphs, Desir assembles a formidable team and gives humanity a fighting chance, but the future remains uncertain. The past cannot be changed but the future has yet to be written. And so A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special chronicles Desir’s quest to make the most of his second chance to save the world from the Shadow Labyrinth’s return. ( 5th use)
